MEET OUR BOARD

Leigh Ann Chute
Chair
LEIGH ANN CHUTE has been a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Rochester since 2014. She is currently the Director of the Family Law Unit where she focuses on representing survivors of domestic violence, and has also practiced in housing and consumer law, representing tenants facing eviction in Rochester City Court. Leigh Ann received her B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C. in 2009. She then attended the University at Buffalo Law School, specializing in clinical domestic violence work and graduating with her J.D in 2012. Leigh Ann feels passionately about providing competent legal counsel to clients who would otherwise go unrepresented, and for continuing to strive for equity for all. Lawyers for Learning is dear to her heart, as she tutored the same student for three years at Buffalo City School #18 during law school. She has been both a tutor and a Board Member for many years with the MCBA as well. Students deserve to feel empowered, advocated for and special, and this program does just that! 
Meghan R. Oslowski
Co-Chair
MEGHAN R. OLSOWSKI has been a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Rochester since 2018. She is currently a Supervising Attorney in the Attorney for the Child Unit where she focuses on representing children in custody, abuse, neglect, and juvenile delinquency proceedings, among others. She has also practiced in the Family Law Unit at LASROC representing survivors of domestic violence. Meghan is a 2023 recipient of the Hon. Michael F. Dillon Award, which signifies vigorous advocacy for children in the Fourth Department. Meghan received her B.A. from SUNY Cortland in 2012 in Sociology and English and went on to attend New England Law Boston where she graduated with her J.D. in 2016. Meghan has been both a tutor and a Board Member for many years with the MCBA Lawyers for Learning Program and absolutely loves the connection and support she can provide to young students in Rochester.
Treasurer
KEVIN W. CONNELL is a Labor Relations Attorney at Genesee Valley BOCES, where he serves 22 component public school districts in matters related to Education Law and Labor & Employment Law. Prior to being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2020, Kevin graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester in 2015 and William & Mary Law School in 2018. In addition to practicing law, Kevin currently serves on multiple local boards, including the Monroe Community Sports Centre and Writers & Books, and performs in the Eastman Music Educators’ Wind Ensemble, Genesee Symphony Orchestra, and Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra. Kevin is also the author of two books on higher education reform, Degrees of Deception: America's For-Profit Higher Education Fraud and Breaking Point: The College Affordability Crisis & Our Next Financial Bubble. The son of two lifelong public educators, Kevin supports Lawyers for Learning with his commitment of ensuring every child receives a quality public education.
Lorin Schwartz
Community Chair
LORIN SCHWARTZ has been a Special Education Teacher for 10 years and currently teaches the Self-Contained Preschool Special Education class at School #29. She holds a BS in Early Childhood/Special Education from The College of St. Rose and a MS in Literacy from Nazareth College. Lorin is currently attending the University of Rochester to complete her administrative degree in education and is teaching a Literacy course to undergraduate students at the College of St. Rose. She also serves as the co-chair of the School #29 Inclusion Committee to promote inclusion of all students with disabilities in the general education setting along with the local community. Lorin enjoys watching all the contributions, relationships, and opportunities the Lawyers for Learning program has brought to all the students at School #29. She continues to work as a liaison between School #29 and the Lawyers for Learning program as the Community Chair and is looking forward to another exciting year together!
Kristin Merrick
Events Chair
KRISTIN MERRICK is a partner at Faraci Lange where she focuses her legal practice on all types of personal injury litigation, including negligence matters, products liability, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents and premise liability matters.  Kristin is a member of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA) where she co-chairs the Women’s Connections Committee and a member of the Women in Leadership Committee.   Kristin has been selected for inclusion as a Best Lawyer in America each year since 2020 and in the Upstate New York Super Lawyers as a Rising Star from 2018-2022 and Super Lawyer from 2023-2024. She was recognized as an Up & Coming Attorney in 2016 and a Top Woman in Law in 2020 by the Daily Record and as an ATHENA Young Professional Finalist in 2023.  Kristin has been a member of Lawyers for Learning for the past nine years formerly serving as both the Chair and Co-Chair of the committee and is committed to helping children enjoy and become passionate about learning. 
Nichole M. Austin
Membership Deputy Chair
NICHOLE M. AUSTIN is an attorney at Faraci Lange, LLP. Nichole holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology and philosophy from SUNY Geneseo and a master's degree in philosophy from SUNY Albany. She is a magna cum laude graduate of UB Law, where she was an editor on the Buffalo Law Review and served on the Moot Court Board. Nichole is a mother of one and enjoys the opportunity to enrich student education through the Lawyers for Learning Committee.
Tiffany D'Angelo
Membership Chair
TIFFANY D’ANGELO is an in house trial attorney for Allstate Insurance where she focuses her practice on defending personal injury actions, including motor vehicle accidents; falls and dog bite cases. Tiffany is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law. Tiffany is a member of GRAWA and the MCBA litigation council.  Tiffany has been a member of the Lawyers for Learning program for the past six years and thoroughly enjoys the time she spends with the students and teachers at School 29. 
Kathryn Mryglod
Development Chair
KATHRYN MRYGLOD has been a special education teacher for 8 years and has spent the majority of her career as a teacher for the Rochester City School District. Currently teaching 5th and 6th grade students within the ASD program at School #29, Kathryn is also a Rochester Teachers Association union representative and serves on the School Based Planning Team and the Instructional Leadership Team this school year. As the Development Coordinator for Lawyers for Learning, Kathryn will work to plan inclusive field trips and prepare activities for Lawyers for Learning volunteers to implement in their adopted classrooms.
