Description: From prohibitions against women voting or owning property, to denying protections from sexual harassment and pay inequity, the law has both shaped and codified gender disparities. This program examines the original federal laws that acknowledged immutable characteristics and looked to rectify injustices rooted in them. It will look at the evolution of the civil rights laws through statute and caselaw, both federal and exclusive to New York, and discuss both recent developments as well as actual case studies and best practices. In addition to CLE credit, this program is interactive and satisfies the annual New York State Harassment Training requirement
