Summary

Presented by:

Eric D. Caine, M.D., University of Rochester Medical Center (ret.)
Bradley Kammholz, Esq., Kammholz Rossi PLLC

Event Description:

How is it going?  Maybe you feel things aren’t going well.  Perhaps someone you know, even you, feels stressed – overwhelmed, depressed, demoralized or feeling trapped.  Maybe there have been dark thoughts and feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, or desperation in a life you know. Learn the signs of distress or depression, and learn more about suicide.  Learn about options for seeking help for someone you know or perhaps for yourself.  There are things you and they can do! Learn from an expert on how to get a handle on workplace and daily challenges. Also, get refreshed on the ethical obligations for yourself and your colleagues in this and other areas.

Psychiatrist Dr. Eric Caine was chair of the URMC Department of Psychiatry and continues as a senior URMC faculty member.  He founded with colleagues the UR Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide (CSPS) in 1998 and served as its Co-Director through 2021.  Dr. Caine has been a consultant and testified as an expert witness in court proceedings.  He has assisted the Office of the Monroe County Medical Examiner, has been involved with public health and preventive psychiatry, and participated in many psychiatric research projects.
