Summary

A colleague, a family member, a friend - maybe you? - appears to be showing signs of impaired mental function, lapses in memory or cognitive ability. Are the memory problems a sign of early dementia?  Of Alzheimer's Disease?  What are the signs and symptoms?  What can be done? Can dementia be slowed, cured, or avoided?  Ethically, what do you need to do for yourself or for a colleague?

If you have or think you will have these questions, this program is for you.  It will address signs and symptoms, behavioral aspects of degenerative cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's Disease, mitigation and preventative steps.  It will also address your ethical responsibilities as a professional when these may confront you or a colleague.

Presenters: Steven V. Modica, Esq., Modica Law Firm; and Anton Porsteinsson, M.D., William B. and Sheila Konar Professor, and Director of the URMC Alzheimer's Disease Care, Research and Education Program (AD-CARE). Dr. Porsteinsson also works in Memory Care, and has been a frequent lecturer on the subject.
