Summary

Presentation and discussion with Timothy Donaher, the Monroe County Public Defender and Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter. Mr. Donaher and Sheriff Baxter will discuss the recent proposals of the New York State Sheriffs’ Association to make eight changes to New York law by making Resisting Arrest a felony, adding a felony of failure to retreat from an officer engaged in performance of duties, and adding several new felony level crimes designed to protect police officers. Sheriff Baxter will also discuss programs available to inmates at the Monroe County Jail.
