Summary

This seminar will provide assistance with the drafting of QDRO's/pension orders for both defined contribution (e.g. 401(k) plans) and defined benefit plans (e.g. government plans). Sample orders will be provided along with sample language for separation agreements. The pitfalls of not preparing these orders as part of the separation agreement, which is a common practice, will be addressed along with the best practice of having all pension orders prepared contemporaneous with the divorce instead of years later. Find out how you can easily incorporate these orders into your separation agreements once you know where to find the model orders for particular plans, how to draft the orders, and how to understand some of the key terminology that is applicable to the different types of orders and plans.
